A violent fire that broke out in a warehouse that has ravaged a portion of Pier 45 to the famous Fisherman’s Wharf of San Francisco, in the United States, on Saturday morning.
One-quarter of the pier would have been destroyed by the flames, according to the Twitter account of the fire department of the city.
The fire, which broke out around 4: 15 in the morning local time, there were no wounded. More than 125 firefighters were mobilized.
The fire department of San Francisco reported that the fire is now controlled and should not spread to other surrounding buildings. In the early after-noon (Montreal time), they were busy always to extinguish the fire.
A monument saved from the flames
Firefighters have managed to prevent the fire from spreading to a ship of the Second world War which was in the vicinity of the blaze.
“Our quick action and aggressive have saved the historical Jeremiah O’brien”, said lieutenant Jonathan Baxter of the department of fire services of San Francisco.
