The Vancouver Whitecaps were granted a contract extension to midfielder Russell Teibert on Saturday.
The native of Niagara Falls, Ontario, has now an agreement valid until the end of the campaign, 2023. An option for the following season is also in his contract.
On Wednesday, the athlete, 27-year-old has played in his 200th career game in the uniform of the Whitecaps. He wore the captain’s armband.
In three parts this season, he has not amassed the points and fired a shot.
