In Ukraine in private ownership are already 27 million ha of agricultural land.
This was stated by Minister of economic development, trade and agriculture of Ukraine Tymofiy mylovanov from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada during the consideration zakonoproektov on the land market.
“The lion’s share of agricultural lands – 27 million hectares – is privately owned. We need to feel the owner, not a serf. He was able to sell one plot and buy another,” said Milovanov.
He noted that about 1 million ha of agricultural land is now community property, and the need to provide communities the right to these lands fair income.
“The communities that we give more authority in the framework of decentralization, must have a fair income from the rent or sale of property. Communities must have tool for encouraging business activity by residents through open access land of the community. In the end we must pass on 8.2 million hectares of agricultural land belonging to the communities, into the hands of efficient farmers”, – said the Minister.
