The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov during a working visit to Uzbekistan, discussed the preparations for the visit of the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Russia in 2019, said on Friday the press service of the foreign Ministry of Russia.
The Ministry noted that the visit of the Russian delegation in Tashkent showed a high degree of trustful dialogue between the two countries. In addition, during the visit, Russia has confirmed its active position in the sphere of cooperation on drug control.
“The visit to Tashkent showed a high degree of trust of the Russian-Uzbek dialogue, allowed to determine priorities in the preparation of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirziyoev in the Russian Federation this year. Confirmed active position of Russia in international cooperation in the field of control of illicit drug trafficking in the interests of the States of Central Asia and the entire Eurasian space”, – said the Minister.
Representatives of the Ministry added that the sides also discussed the agreements concluded following the results of visit of Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan in mid-October of 2018, and also the preparations for the meeting of the Commission at the level of Prime Ministers.
