“It would have been “challenger” Canada” – Sean Couturier

«On aurait pu "challenger" le Canada» - Sean Couturier

Sean Couturier can boast of having been part of one of the teams in the most spectacular that we have been allowed to see in the history of hockey.

During the world Cup of 2016, the team of the North America had put on a great show for the fans. The training was only made up of players 23 years and younger, and relied on many of the stars of today: Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews and Nathan MacKinnon to name a few… so much So that Couturier was a veteran within the band at the time.

“It was a fun group, remembered Couturier, on Tuesday evening, during an interview at the show Dave Morissette live broadcast on TVA Sports. We were all young, all in the same age group. There was really no expectations. People didn’t know what to expect from us.”

Upon his arrival at training camp, Couturier has had a taste of the speed mind-blowing that this team was about to demonstrate during the tournament.

“What are the workouts faster which I took part, has he entrusted to you. McDavid, [Johnny] Gaudreau, [Dylan Larkin], [Jack] Eichel… I almost felt in slow motion. I was one of the oldest, but it was fun to be part of this group here.”

The center player of the Flyers Philadelphia has one regret: that of not being able to measure up to the team to beat, Canada.

“It was a success. It has not been able to move on to the semi-finals, but it was so close. We would have liked it to have a chance to play against Canada. With our style of play and our speed, I believe that it would have been challenger Canada”, he says.

This young team full of talent had actually enjoyed a good tournament in the circumstances, compiling a record of 2-1 in the preliminary round, the same as that of Russia. However, this is the band of Alex Ovechkin, who has advanced to the semi-finals, as their victory against the band’s north american gave him the tie-breaker.
