It’s never a bad time to re-evaluate your App Store subscriptions

If you’re like me, you probably have a lot more app and service subscriptions than you think you do. Happens. We accumulate these things over time, and while it’s fine as long as we use them, it’s less ideal if we find ourselves paying for services that we no longer need or use. This is never a bad time to re-evaluate your App Store subscriptions.

Canceling Apple Arcade and other services like Apple TV + are easy wins when you’re looking to save a few dollars each month. The same goes for all those apps that you started the free trial for and then spent the last few months paying a dollar a week. You don’t always notice them due to the low dollar amounts, but they add up and do it quickly.

Now, it is important to remember that I am not suggesting that people cancel services and applications from left to right. Subscriptions are an important part of how businesses stay afloat. I have already made my feelings about subscriptions clear and I think they are fine. I know that others may disagree, but each with his own.

But all applications and services must to win your money and if they aren’t, it’s time to ditch them.

I’m willing to bet that most of the people reading this have at least one subscription that could be canceled and I suspect that many have quite a few more than that. Don’t be afraid to have a solution – apps are only worth your money if they are doing something for you, after all.

Now might also be a good time to find out which apps are compatible with Family Sharing, something Apple recently enabled for in-app purchases (IAPs). Again, if you are like me, you may have duplicates here. For example, you could be paying twice for the same IAP. Talk to your family and make sure that is not the case.

We are getting closer and closer to the time of the iPhone 13 and it will be the best iPhone yet. Who knows, maybe you can cancel enough services to buy yourself a case for your nice new iPhone!
