The attacker of the Vancouver Canucks, Antoine Roussel is full of praise towards his team-mate, goalkeeper swede Jacob Markstrom.
“According to me, it was the best goaltender in the league, this year, I’m preaching for my parish, but for real, the other team sometimes had to many chances to score in the enclave and he would stop everything,” he asserted, Friday, during a vidéoconference organized by the national hockey League (NHL).
The Canucks, who have surprised many this season, fighting for a place in the playoffs at the time of the shutdown in the NHL in march. With a record of 36-27-6, the formation of Vancouver, however, had a bit slowed due to an injury suffered by Markstrom. The latter, however, would be ready to return in the event of a return to play in the NHL.
“His injury hurt us, but in our case, our best player is our goalie,” added Roussel. He was wounded in a knee and it is now restored in full.”
In 43 starts this season, Markstrom has maintained a record of 23-16-4, an average goals allowed of 2.75 and an efficiency rate of ,918. He has also managed two white games.
