The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbai Jeenbekov in Bishkek met with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The sides discussed the Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation in regional organizations, said the Agency “Interfax” the press service of Kyrgyzstan.
“Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev discussed the current state and prospects of further development of bilateral relations, including in the framework of the EAEU, CSTO and SCO,” – said the press service.
Jeenbekov also Tokayev congratulated on his victory in early presidential elections of Kazakhstan and invited him to come to Bishkek with official visit.
In turn, Tokayev said that he was glad to make his first foreign visit to Kyrgyzstan as the newly elected head of state. Kazakhstan’s President also stressed that he will make maximum efforts to deepen cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan exchanged views on the agenda of the upcoming SCO summit, said the press service.
Bishkek hosted a meeting of leaders of the countries of the Shanghai cooperation organization. The presidents of eight countries will take part in the two-day summit.
