“…someone knocks a stone on the head just because you have red hair” (Monroe)
In Kiev on Sunday, June 17, will be “Kievprayd”, or the Equality March. In it, among hundreds of others will participate famous transvestite diva Monroe. She recently decided to share my thoughts about such events.
Kievprayd: a little history
As known, the first equality March in the capital was to be held in 2012, but was cancelled for security reasons. The same happened in 2013 and 2014 years.
It took place in June 2015 on the waterfront Obolonska. It was attended by about 250 people. Has not done without provocations by nationalist organizations, which have suffered and law enforcement officials, and participants of the March. Parades 2016 and 2017 were relatively calm and has already gathered much more participants – a few thousand.
Travesty diva Monroe about the Equality March in Kiev
According to Monroe, such events are a way to enlighten people, what different social categories of wealth:
“Ukraine pride – the battle for common sense and the right to openly live and love and not to look around and be afraid that someone knocks a stone on the head just because you have red hair. The attitude of society to open LGBT people are still negative,” she said.

For officials, I’m sure Monroe is also beneficial: they show the world the “European direction”, however, the net whether these intentions actually?
“This one does not stutter on the law criminalizing homophobia, civil partnership for same-sex couples, the police continue to act if you see that the crime is committed on the basis of hatred for the LGBT community, and Comedy programs raise the topic of LGBT in a distorted, Soviet section, thereby forming a clear image of second-class citizens. In my environment the opposite has become the norm to talk openly about their orientation, not to be shy and not be afraid that someone will take inappropriately or aggressively. But mostly, these are young boys and girls not older than 25 years,” added transvestite diva.
Monroe said that representatives of the LGBT community perceive the world in different displays like on the colors of their flag. But, unfortunately, none of them are immune from negative comments in his address:
“Your right not to answer uncomfortable questions about his personal life, but to admit honestly that you’re gay, lesbian or transgender, it’s worth. And life will become easier. But don’t make orientation the only dignity or achievement. It is as proud of large Breasts or a penis, accept the fact that in the Ukrainian society, if you’re not, the other, and this applies not only to LGBT people, the impact will have to keep always,” she summed up.
