Company Kyivstar signed the common action plan aimed at implementing the decree of the President of Ukraine V. Zelensky on ensuring nationwide coverage of 4G/LTE. About it the correspondent of Mediasat reported in a press-service of the operator.
Kyivstar is considering the possibility to transfer state of 1.8 MHz frequencies in the 900 MHz band for distribution between the two other mobile operators, subject to the approval of the relevant authorities on corporate governance of the company. For Kyivstar also crucial that when refarming the 900 MHz band has maintained the high quality of the connection for more than 26 million subscribers.
Because only in Ukraine in the range of 900 MHz the coexistence of the incompatible CDMA and GSM, there are significant interference of signal transmission. According to the plans of the Telecom regulator, the company shall transfer to the distribution between the other operators “net” frequency, instead of working in a “dirty” radio noise spectrum. Insufficient amount of spectral resource can lead to a significant reduction in quality.
Kyivstar is the only company which is already the second time becomes the donor of the frequency resource for the entire market, ready to voluntarily return part of the spectrum, if NCCIR will be executed a number of conditions to ensure the quality of communication for millions of subscribers. Including:
development and approval of changes to regulatory-legal acts which will be recorded the identification of interference for different technologies and mechanisms of their elimination at the expense of the operator, which creates such interference;the release range 878,52 MHz (CDMA band 5) of CDMA technology for one year and then discontinue use of this radio technology, for harmonization with European norms of the Telecom market;the definition at the legislative level the concept of “the suitability of radio frequency resource”, which will allow to assess the real capacity of the resource to account for the loads on the network.Telecom operator Kyivstar has been and remains a strong proponent of the digital transformation of Ukraine. 2015 Kyivstar has invested in 3G and 4G more than 25 billion UAH. The company has already provided the ability to access 4G connection for more than 70% of the population of Ukraine and every week increases the area of broadband mobile Internet.
