Lac-Saint-Jean: reprise des recherches des motoneigistes français

SAGUENAY | The Sûreté du Québec has revived the research in the Lac-Saint-Jean to find two snowmobilers French, who are missing since the 21st of January last.

The watercraft will patrol the waters of the Grand river-Discharge to Alma with a helicopter of the SQ.

The operations will be done with special measures in order to limit the risks of contagion of the COVID-19.

The police ask the public not to travel to the places of intervention due to the pandemic. The Sûreté du Québec has already advised that she will not comment on the resumption of operations.

After 16 consecutive days of searches in January and February, the body of Jean-René Dumoulin, 24 years old, and Arnaud Antoine, 25 years old, had not been found.

On the evening of the 21st January last, six snowmobilers were sunk in the waters of lake Saint-Jean. Five French tourists and a guide quebec were part of this expedition. The bodies of four other victims were recovered, and seven snowmobiles that have sunk to the bottom of the water have been retrieved. Three visitors from france were released.
