The Los Angeles Lakers sent a strong message in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night as they easily defeated the Miami Heat 116-98.
The Californian team had a 26-point lead after three disputed quarters. It is the fourth biggest lead held by a team after three engagements in the first match of a final in the history of the Silver Circuit.
Unsurprisingly, LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the way for the winners. The former had 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, while the latter had 34 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The two stars also succeeded about 52% of their shot attempt.
At the Heat, Jimmy Butler led the parade with 23 points. He is the only player on his team to have passed the 20 point mark.
The second matchup in the Ultimate Series of the 2019-20 NBA season will be played Friday night.
