Even if gatherings are still permitted by public health, even in the orange zone, Minister Dubé implored Quebeckers to avoid all gatherings that are not necessary, such as family dinners or parties with friends.
Public health made the MRC D'Avignon, in Gaspésie, go into a yellow zone on Thursday. The rest of the Gaspé remains in the green zone for the moment. Quebec does not change the status of any other region in the province, which means that five regions are still in the orange zone, namely Montreal, the Capitale-Nationale (with the exception of Portneuf and Charlevoix), Chaudière-Appalaches, Laval and the Outaouais.
Nearly 4,000 people have registered on the “Je Contribue” site to participate in the screening effort, Minister Dubé also announced.
Quebec reported 582 new cases and one death on Thursday, bringing the total to 69,670 people infected since the start of the pandemic and 5,810 dead.
