SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU – leader in the production of uniforms in Canada, Logistik Unicorp, will mobilize its supply chain for the production of millions of jackets medical protection for health care workers in Canada.
In a press release issued Monday, the company has stated that it intends to provide solutions for washable and disposable, entirely produced in Canada during the next six months, thanks to an agreement signed with the government of Canada.
“When the call has been launched in the business, we understood that we had a role to play, and we determined that we had the ability to make a difference for front-line workers. In a few days, we have been able to develop the products and certify prototypes from Health Canada,” said Karine Bibeau, vice-president, sales, Logistik Unicorp.
The company, whose head office is at Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, has recently made the acquisition of new equipment necessary in the manufacture and delivery of large volumes of jackets of protection levels 2 and 3.
In the coming weeks, it plans to gradually increase its rate of production.
This announcement allows the resumption of activities and return to work of 20 factories specialized in the manufacture of textiles and clothing across Canada. The opportunity for these canadian companies “to demonstrate their capabilities and their know-how in the medical field”, a sector that has a habit of sourcing abroad.
