President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko lit a candle in the Church of the Nativity in the village Ostroshitsy, Logoisk district, Minsk region and congratulated believers on Easter, the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state noted the beautiful decorations of the temple in Ostracized and wished the parishioners health, joy, good mood and all the best to all Belarusians.
“And not only Belarusians: you know now intently watching us. And let see. But if the Lord be with us, it will be all right,” said the President.
Also, the press service reported that Lukashenka donated to the Church icon “the Resurrection”, written by an ancient Byzantine technology, and all the parishioners were treated to a chocolate “President”.
The priest in turn gave the head of state Iveron icon of the Holy virgin, the original of which is in Iveron monastery on mount Athos in Greece.
