President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered to build a national Convention centre by 2021, the press service of the head of state.

He noted that the country needs such a center, called the exhibition activity a question of principle for Belarus.

“In the modern world is impossible without the organization of exhibitions and similar events primarily to conduct trade. And for export-oriented countries generally no development. We have long said on this subject, I have been tasked to study the issues of development of exhibition activities and the construction of a national center that would meet all of our requirements. But the question is unreasonably delayed. Let’s decide and make it so that in 2021 we had such a center,” – said Lukashenko.

In addition, you need to think about creating a single system and a single center exhibition activities, he instructed. According to him, such activities must be effective.

Lukashenko demanded “not wise” to build the exhibition center without unnecessary spending. It should be a “function centre” and not the Palace, he said.

“Of course he must be beautiful outwardly, but this does not mean that we have to pay big money. Therefore, it is necessary to do simply and beautifully, soundly, efficiently,” added the Belarusian leader.

Earlier, Lukashenko has opened a new runway at Minsk airport. He said that it was built “not for $ 600 million” (the price named by foreign companies), and “about three times cheaper.” He noted that Belarusians can “all just have to tune in to to do it.”
