President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country should carry out honestly and without self-imposed limitations. The head of state said that the polling date will be determined in the near future, BelTA reports.
“Requirements for the conduct of the election campaign unchanged. It should be fair elections, without inappropriate restrictions, so that no one would doubt their legitimacy,” – said Lukashenko at a meeting on the organization and conduct of elections on Friday.
According to the Belarusian leader, the vote is scheduled to take place in November this year, and election activities will begin in August. The President added that at the present time it is necessary to examine the readiness for the elections of regional authorities, as well as all organizational matters.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that regardless of the political views of parliamentarians should support the independence of the country, stable development and growth of welfare of the Belarusian people
The head of the Central election Commission of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina, in turn, announced that it will propose to the President to hold parliamentary elections on November 17.
