As they say, everything happens for a reason. I confess I don’t quite believe it, however, from time to time I hear stories in which “destiny” is the only obvious explanation for what happened.
However, in our history, solving a 25-year-old secrets, there is one interesting coincidence.
Don’t know if it was ordained by fate, but I am of the opinion that it played a role here.
July 4 Ben Meyers in the company of 11-year-old nephew were fishing off the pier on lake Hartwell in South Carolina. The weather was excellent, but the first two unlucky fishermen with their catch.
Then nephew Ben felt a tug and started to pull out of the water for what seemed like a major production. The fact that the boy pulled from the lake bottom, struck his uncle in shock.
“I threw the bait, while my nephew began to drag something from the water. Suddenly on the surface of the lake seemed to bag and I said, “well, Boy, you caught a real treasure!” — said Ben in an interview with “Fox Carolina”.
Opening the bag, Ben found inside the perfectly preserved time capsule of the early 90-ies. In it lay an expired credit card, old makeup kit, comb for the perfect fleece, appropriate fashion of the 80-ies-90-ies, and, most importantly, some children’s photos.
Ben was not familiar with baby photos, but he could read the name on the credit card: “Bolt”.
It turns out, April was a friend of Ben. In the summer of 1992 she moored his boat on lake Hartwell, and, leaving the bag on Board, went to dinner with my husband and his parents to a nearby restaurant. Back on the boat, she found that the purse was missing.
“I was very upset, I cried. My son at that time was little more than a year, and all his photos were gone together with the bag,” he told April in an interview with “Fox Carolina”.
And now, 25 years later, April returned her bag. Ben handed the bag grateful to April and her disappearance mystery for the most part, has been disclosed – all because of the coincidence.
“I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t even know what to say. I was hoping someday to find her,” admitted April.
