There is no doubt that Diego Maradona, Pele and Lionel Messi – three of the best players in the history of football. The latter has not yet finished his career and if he can add that to my list gold medal with Argentina at the world championship, may become number one.
Interestingly, Pele, and Maradona are considered the best players of football history absolutely another. A few years ago, the Brazilian admitted that, in his opinion, the most prominent was Alfredo Di Stefano, legend of real Madrid. Now “Divine Diego” agreed with this opinion.
“He was better than all of us, he’s the best player in the history of football. Forget about me and Messi,” said Maradona, who was quoted by Spanish newspaper “AS”.
Recall that Alfredo Di Stefano was born in Argentina, but he also came out in the shirts of the national team of Colombia and Spain. He achieved the greatest success in the “Real world”, which won five European Champions cups and eight Spanish Championships. He scored 216 goals in 282 matches. He died 7 July 2014 aged 88 years.
Diego Maradona is currently the coach of the Argentine team “Gimnasia La Plata”. He resigned in November, but returned to coaching in three days.
