Eight new departments should see their curfew advance at 6 p.m., including Bouches-du-Rhône. AT Marseille, the measure is not yet applied, but it is already making traders react, soon deprived of part of their turnover. A hard blow, confirms Caroline Baron, manager of a ready-to-wear store, which will lose 20% of its activity. “Open more than 9 am to 6 pm it will be complicated, since we are already open continuously”, she believes.

The elected representatives of the majority come in support, denouncing a measure deemed insane. “We were all unanimous in saying that it was not the right solution, assures Michèle Rubirola, the first deputy mayor. I am waiting for scientific proof to say whether between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. we contaminate ourselves more than on Saturdays and Sundays in supermarkets. “ For the opposition, you have to bet everything on gestures barriers, the mask, the tests and especially the vaccination, rather than applying a curfew. More than 54 sites are ready to welcome the population to be vaccinated in the department.
