Conor McGregor, who has announced his umpteenth retirement from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) during the recent weekend, would just be frustrated, according to the big boss Dana White.
Invited to comment on the recent news about McGregor, stated that the Irishman is living a difficult period and that he is the person in charge, after having refused a fight that could allow him to shine.
“It’s just that Conor became frustrated, I think, because he cannot have what he wants now”, summed White, Tuesday, during an interview with ESPN.
McGregor would have wished to face Justin Gaethje for an interim title, but the UFC imagine instead a world title fight between Gaethje and Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov by the end of the year.
Depending on what that revealed White, McGregor would have been able to take things in hand, because the fight of the UFC 249 against Tony Ferguson has first been offered to the result of the discontinuance of Nurmagomedov. However, McGregor has refused and Gaethje is the one who took the fight on short notice, the better to take.
“He replied that he was not a fighter replacement, and that he was not going to do it”, summed White, about the reception of McGregor to this offer to face Ferguson.
