The number of people with incomes below the subsistence level by 2024 must be reduced by half. The Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting on achieving national development goals, reports TASS.
“Gradually we can solve this problem, twice in the past year have raised the minimum wage, indexed public sector wages, which were not provided for the former may decrees, pensions, social payments,” he said.
As a result of these efforts, the number of people with incomes below the subsistence minimum for the year decreased by 400 thousand people. From 1 January the minimum wage was increased to the subsistence minimum were indexed insurance pensions above inflation, and in April – pensions for state pensions, including social. Unemployment increased by almost two times.
The head of government urged to Supplement these measures address the system support, which is focused on the needs of a person, “the state could offer the suitable particular person a way out of this situation”, – said the Prime Minister. According to him, in 2020, Rosstat will calculate the level of welfare with a special information system. It allows to take into account the specific situation of each needy person, including income, health status, living conditions, family composition, level of education etc. With the following Ghoda the government intends to co-Finance regional programmes on the implementation of the social contract.
