Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev instructed the government to develop measures in response to the United States for the new sanctions, noting that under the blow could fall, existing trade agreements and procedures.
“I would ask those present, and, of course, Ministerial agencies to develop specific proposals, what specific support you could provide to companies. Well, to study the issue of effective measures to Russia”, – said Medvedev, opening the meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers on Monday, reports Rus.Media.
He stressed that Friday’s sanctions against Russia is “another manifestation of protectionist policies, only veiled under the cover sanctino”.
“These decisions are certainly not acceptable. We consider them illegitimate, because they are located outside the plane of international law. And, of course, reserve the right to retaliatory action, including existing trade agreements and procedures,” said Medvedev.
Recall, the US has imposed new sanctions on 24 Russian businessmen and officials, as well as against financial institutions, public and private companies associated with the Kremlin.
To the sanctions list, in particular, were billionaire Oleg Deripaska and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of group of companies “Renova” Viktor Vekselberg, which, according to Forbes, is the richest man in Russia.
