Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia has no right to take the position in space, reports RIA “Novosti”.
Returning leadership in this area is not only a question of prestige and national security, said the Prime Minister at a meeting on the development of the State Corporation for outer space activities “Roscosmos”.
“It is clear that Russia, which was a pioneer in space, ahead in this field the absolute majority of other countries, has no right to take the position,” – said Medvedev.
The Prime Minister added that “a Central role” in the development of the space sector in Russia is to “Roscosmos”.
Medvedev stressed that space exploration major investment is being made, but keep in mind that Russia has “their financial capabilities, our partners and competitors in that they own”.
“Therefore, to adequately evaluate it, so we expect this money from these investments return”, – said the head of government.
