At the motor show In Los Angeles debuted the AMG modifications to the crossover Mercedes GLE and GLS with index 63.
The new generation of the sports SUV was replaced by a 5.5-liter engine 4.0-liter turbosmart that are already installed on a number of other models of the brand.
The impact of power plants – is the same as, for example, the Mercedes-AMG E 63. The base GLE 63 develops 571 HP and 750 Nm, and the elder GLE 63 S – 612 HP and 850 Nm.
GLS model 63 is represented only in the 612-strong execution, and this is a standard, not an S version. A more powerful engine is active support.
The novelty is that the familiar V8 for the first time became part of the temperate hybrid powertrain with a starter-generator of EQ Boost, which momentarily adds 22 HP and 250 Nm.
The engine is matched with a nine-storyed automatic and all-wheel drive with a clutch connecting the front axle. All three versions of the crossovers have a rear differential lock with electronic control, air suspension AMG Ride Control with six modes of driving electronics (the older GLE provides one racing setup).
For extra charge you can get the active stabilizer bars with Electromechanical actuators, carbon-ceramic brakes.
Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 develops 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, the GLE 63 S – 3.8 seconds, and the GLS 63 – 4.2 seconds. With the AMG Driver’s package the maximum speed is increased from 250 to 280 km/h.
Global sales of sports crossover will start in spring.
