Former NBA All-Star Michael Jordan bought a stable in the NASCAR Series.
This is what the motor circuit website said on Monday.
The former glory of the Chicago Bulls will be the majority owner of the team which still has no name. His business partner and friend Denny Hamlin is also one of the owners.
While they still don't have an identity, Jordan's team already has a driver. Indeed, Bubba Wallace will drive a car there.
The only African-American driver in this series was free as the air for the 2021 season. Earlier this month, he announced that he would not be returning to the Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) team.
Wallace had caused a lot of talk last June after he found a noose in his garage in Talladega. However, an FBI investigation later revealed that a NASCAR-authenticated video showed that the noose was already there in October 2019.
As a career, Wallace made 105 starts in NASCAR's most prestigious series, all with RPMs. This season he has completed five races in the top 10.
