The first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev dismissed fears about the possible duality in the country. “There is one President, and he’s in charge. And we’ll all be working for him” – he said on the 12-th Astana economic forum in Nur-Sultan, the correspondent of “MIR 24” Sabi Baibusinov.
“Inspiring growth: people, cities, economy” – the name of the current Astana economic forum. Today here to talk about the challenges of global development. These are the topics of financial security, economic growth and trust between countries. The forum was opened by first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
“I, as leader of the nation and the President of the Security Council will continue to participate in the work on strategic directions of development of the state, including security, internal and foreign policy. This is especially important at a time when there is a rapid transformation of all processes of global economic development. All my work is concluded in that to support the work of the new President and to provide transit in a relaxed atmosphere”, – said Nazarbayev.
According to the President, today, the growing influence of large cities and investment will come in them. By 2030, 15% of the world population will need to be retrained and to change the profession. Nazarbayev also urged world leaders to move from unproductive sanctions regime for direct dialogue. The capital of Kazakhstan can become a platform for a crisis.
“We need to discuss ways out of the current geopolitical crisis between U.S., China, Russia and the European Union. I’m negotiating with the leaders of these States. To build this work should dialogue with key think tanks with a further transition at the Ministerial and higher levels. We can provide such a platform in our capital”, – he added.
One of the headliners of the economic forum – the managing Director of the International monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde expressed the hope that Nazarbayev’s mediation will help relieve the economic tension between these major world players like the US and China. According to IMF forecasts, in the next six months is expected to reduce global tensions, but at the same time, Lagarde stressed that it is impossible to be too confident.
