The national Bank admitted that did not expect such volumes of external support at the end of 2018.
International reserves of Ukraine amounted to 20.8 billion dollars, 1.6 billion higher than economists ‘ indicators, informs Rus.Media.
This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine.
In their forecasts, the NBU took into account that the reserves of Ukraine will amount to 19.2 billion dollars by the end of 2018.
The main sources of growth reserves are called external loans from the International monetary Fund and the European Union.
The NBU noted that 20.8 billion dollars – the largest amount of reserves in 2013. This amount will allow the country if necessary to survive the three months of complete isolation, that is, to fully cover future imports. Also these funds will help to pay a portion of the state debt within six years.
21 Dec 2018 year, Ukraine received the first tranche under a new cooperation program with the International monetary Fund. International reserves of the country rose to 20.1 billion dollars.
