According to official data, 2.0-liter engine, which will be equipped with Mazda MX-5 2019 model year, received some significant improvements – in particular, its torque was increased.
After a few days ago, Japanese automaker introduced a new version of model MX-5 at home, the engineers of the brand embarked on the revision of the European version of the Roadster. Perhaps one of the most important changes compared with its predecessor is the 2.0-litre petrol engine – but now he can “spin” up to a maximum of 7,500 rpm, whereas before, the figure was equal to 6 800 R/min.
The representatives of company Mazda say that the biggest engine of the family Skyactiv-G, can now develop a maximum power of 182 HP Engineers managed to increase the power of this engine is 24 HP, meanwhile, torque has also increased, but only by 5 Nm – now this indicator is equal to 205 Nm.
Yet it remains unclear whether affected increase capacity on the dynamic characteristics of the Japanese Roadster – the previous version of the model could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, and top speed was equal to 214 km/h.
Technical data Junior engine for Mazda MX-5 has not been provided. In the version of the model 2018 model year, this engine can develop 129 HP of power and 150 Nm of torque. This was enough for acceleration to first “hundred” in 8.3 seconds and reaching a top speed of 204 km/h.
