Employees of Department of protection of the economy (USA) and investigation Department (SU) of the National police of Ukraine in the Dnepropetrovsk area detained the attackers, who were trying to get rid of counterfeit money by implementing them via self-service terminals. Law enforcement officers seized counterfeit banknotes for the sum more than 23 thousand hryvnia.

To the employees of USA asked the representatives of one of the banks and said that during collection payment terminals found false banknotes of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On this fact the SU was opened criminal proceedings under article 199 (manufacture, possession, acquisition, transport, transfer, import to Ukraine with the aim of using while selling goods, or sale of counterfeit money, state securities, state lottery tickets, excise stamps or holographic security elements) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
During it is investigative-expeditious actions the staff of the police exposed a group of persons which was engaged in the manufacture and distribution of counterfeit banknotes. Established and the criminal scheme of realization of counterfeit banknotes. Slitting banknotes in denominations of 5, 20, 50, 200 and 500 hryvnias, glued them with tape from souvenir banknotes, which allowed cyber criminals to counterfeit bills of the Bank in greater numbers.
Thus produced “money” counterfeiters are implemented in Dnipropetrovsk city via self-service terminals. In particular, they replenish Bank cards of their relatives or front men, and later cashed the transferred funds.
Militiamen identified the personality of malefactors, as well as the time and place the regular sale of counterfeit banknotes and arrested the counterfeiters. They were locals 1974 and 1979 years of birth.
“During carrying out by workers of use and SU of the National police of Ukraine in the Dnepropetrovsk area of the RAID, the defendants were detained on “hot”. Counterfeiters tried to sell fake notes in denomination of 200 hryvnia at a terminal in the grocery store. 41-year-old attacker, the police seized 44 banknotes with obvious signs of forgery, as well as duct tape, a box cutter, a ruler, a few Bank cards, SIM cards, flash cards”, — is told in the message.
Simultaneously with the detention of suspects, militiamen carried out the authorized searches eleven at the place of residence of the defendants and their families. At the place of residence of a citizen born in 1974, the police found 300 bills of dubious origin denomination of 200, 500 hryvnia, fragments of notes in denominations of 5, 20, 50, 200, 500 hryvnias and 13 Bank cards. The relatives of the second defendant in the case was identified of a Bank card, which was enlarged by the distribution of counterfeit money through the terminals, and later starred in cash.
“During searches the staff of use and SU of the National police in the Dnipropetrovsk region 345 seized counterfeit notes worth over 23 thousand hryvnia, SIM cards of different mobile operators and 21 a Bank card. In addition, in the framework of criminal proceedings and conduct investigative activities documented numerous facts of sale of 41-year-old counterfeiter of counterfeit money,” — said the interior Ministry.
To the detainee it is reported about suspicion in Commission of a criminal offense under article 199 of the Criminal code of Ukraine. It elected a measure of restraint in form of arrest. Regarding the second detainee and his relatives elected a measure of restraint in the form of personal commitments.
According to representatives of office of one of the banks of Dnipropetrovsk, starting in March 2015, in the city by the collectors seized more than half a million hryvnias of counterfeit banknotes in denominations of 20, 200 and 500 hryvnia. Now police officers check the detainees for involvement in sale of counterfeit money in the period between March 2015 and January 2016.
As previously reported by the “observer” in July 2015 in Dnipropetrovsk region was recorded the flow of counterfeit hryvnia banknotes originating from the area of ATO and temporarily occupied Crimea.
