The head of the security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ivan Bakanov believes that veterans of the antiterrorist operation in Donbass (ATO) can make a personnel reserve of the country. He told about it in interview “Interfax-Ukraine”.
This view Bakanov expressed, speaking about the need to integrate ex-military into society. He noted that such people should receive the state support, including psychological, since “the trauma these people unequivocally are.”
Despite this the head of the SBU is confident that veterans can become active members of society and “personnel reserve for changes in the country” because they have their vision of what is happening in Ukraine.
Also, according to Bakanova, “those who fought under any circumstances will not be able to betray their country.” He said that now the authorities are developing bills that would integrate veterans in the territorial defense forces.
