The boxer montrealer colombian Oscar Rivas has entered into an agreement valid for several battles with the american developer Top Rank on Thursday, so it will evolve to the antenna network ESPN this year.
Ranked third contender to the heavyweight by the World Boxing Council, the protected Group Yvon Michel (GYM) now wants a fight-revenge against the British Dillian Whyte. This last defeated him by unanimous decision on July 20, in a duel for the interim title vacant.
Subsequently, Whyte was the subject of doping allegations, but he has been cleared of all the charges against him.
“I am very proud and excited to join my forces with Top Rank, that I would like to thank her for having believed in me. I am also grateful to my manager Stéphane Lépine and my promoter, Yvon Michel for their leadership and guidance since the beginning of my career,” said the pugilist in a press release published on the site boxingnews24.com.
“I’m still bitter a little bit as to the circumstances surrounding my last fight in London against Dillian Whyte. I hope to win the rematch a day on a neutral ground. As I know, Dillian, he will do everything to avoid this, but nothing will stop me becoming a world champion. I am ready to meet every challenge.”
For his part, Michel is expected to the best of Rivas (26-1-0, 18 K.-O.).
“Oscar is ready to send a strong message. He has the style to defeat any heavyweight, regardless of the day.”
