The star player of the Philadelphia Phillies Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla have made a $ 500,000 donation that will go to two food banks in Las Vegas and Philadelphia on Thursday.
The outfielder has indicated by way of a press release that the money will go to the Three Square Food Bank in his hometown of Las Vegas, and the charity Philabundance of Philadelphia.
“Las Vegas will forever be the first home of my family,” said the man, 27-year-old. Philadelphia, our home to the outside of the house, we was greeted with open arms from the first day. These communities are so important to you, and Kayla and I wanted to do our part to help in the battle against the virus in Vegas and Philly.”
“We are fortunate to be together as a family during this pandemic, but we realize that many do not have the same luxury, he added. While the world is fighting the COVID-19 and its effects, we keep the faith and we pray for a speedy return to normality.”
The season 2019 was the first of Harper in Pennsylvania, who has spent the first seven years of his professional career with the Nationals of Washington.
