Quebec city’s firefighters are fighting a second major fire in a few hours, in the area of Val-Bélair this time.
Around 18h, the fire a 2nd alarm was 1304, street of Modena, close to the boulevard Pie-XI North.
It is a fire shed, which would have spread to two cars and the garden shed of a neighbour.
Approximately 35 firefighters are on the scene, and the evacuation of houses in proximity has been necessary. The flames were, however, folded quickly.
The thermometer shows 32 °C in the late afternoon in Quebec city.
A little earlier, firefighters also fought a fire at the industry’s AIM of Eco-Centre, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, an industrial building of large area.
The first firefighters on the scene had indicated the presence of a large amount of black smoke.
The street of Rotterdam has been temporarily closed.
After an hour of struggle, the chief operations announced that the worsening is unlikely to 15h21. No one was injured.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
