Through her novel, The trajectory of confetti, Marie-Eve Thuot is part of the group of laureates of the Prix des libraires du Québec 2020, awarded Thursday.
The author has laid hands on the reward of the Novel category-News-Story quebec awarded by the Association of booksellers du Québec (ALQ). Marie-Eve Thuot has been acclaimed “for the undeniable quality of his first novel, which opens indeed the way to a brilliant literary career,” said Anne-Marie Jean, president and ceo of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, which awarded him a$ 10,000 scholarship.
The trajectory of confetti immerses the reader in a history that spans almost 130 years. A succession of characters that are as unique as a bartender who has taken a vow of chastity, a teenager whose heart beats for his aunt, a pastor who took a keen interest in the words daring and three women who laugh at their guru.
For Marie-Eve Thuot, this distinction of booksellers is added to the Price of the Appointments of the first novel – Readings, plural, that she accepted in march.
In total, six works have been awarded in the most recent literary Awards in Quebec, four of whom were to shine the province. In addition to the trajectory of The confetti, we find the trial The raw and the pin (Lux) Dominique Payette, the collection of poetry the tendon and The bone (the Hexagon) signed Anne-Marie Desmeules, and the comic strip The big ugly (XYZ) written by Marie-Noëlle Hébert.
Outside Quebec, the ALQ has recognized the talent of Aj Dungo following the publication of his comic In Waves (Casterman), as well as that of Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich for his novel The footprint (Sonatine).
In addition, the Award of excellence was awarded to Chantal Fontaine, the Library, Modern, at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
