Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday arrived in the affected from the floods in the Irkutsk region. The head of state will take part in the meeting devoted to liquidation of consequences of the disaster, reports “WORLD 24”.
This trip was not in the work schedule of the Russian leader. But he changed the route and flew into the region from Japanese Osaka, where he ended the summit of “Big twenty” (G20). The meeting will be held in the city of Bratsk, where he was declared a state of emergency. In addition to the President and will comprise the head of the Ministry Yevgeny Senichev, Plenipotentiary representative of the President in the Siberian Federal district Sergey meniailo and the Governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko.
According to recent reports, the floods in the region has claimed the lives of three people, 351 people were injured, several missing. Flooding suffered more than four thousand houses, inhabited 9919 people and 30 roads and 15 bridges were destroyed. In the city of Tulun river Ia overflowed and broke the dam. Water blocked traffic on the Federal highway R-255 “Siberia”.
Recall that the floods in the Irkutsk region began due to heavy rainfall, which led to the rise of the water level in the rivers. Water damaged homes and buildings in 48 settlements in Tulun, Nizhneudinsk, Chunskiy, Taishet and Zima areas.
