Today begins a one-day official visit of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Italy. The day before he gave an interview to local newspaper Il Corriere della Sera. One of the issues was the relationship of Putin with the former President of Italy Silvio Berlusconi, informs television channel “MIR 24”.
“We have longstanding friendly relations. Silvio is a politician of world renown, a real leader, strongly defended the interests of his country in the international arena. A matter of respect his sincere desire to preserve and increase the accumulated potential in the relations between our countries. We seldom get to meet, but when the opportunity appears, he never allows himself to discuss the issues of domestic nature. Don’t do it and I,” said the Russian leader.
By the way, at the end of the official visit of Vladimir Putin plans to meet Berlusconi. Most likely, this meeting will happen just before the departure of the President in Russia.
Berlusconi born 29 September 1936. He four times held the position of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Italy (1994-1995, 2001-2005, 2005-2006, 2008-2011).
