Russian President Vladimir Putin said a few words in German at a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Alexander van der Bellena in Sochi, reports RIA “Novosti”.
Van der Bellen, who arrived in Russia on a working visit, invited the Russian leader to visit next year, the Salzburg festival, which celebrates 100 years. The Austrian President also thanked his Russian counterpart for the opportunity to visit Sochi and to “introduce something new”. What Putin said in German: “I also thank you for the invitation”.
The Russian President, in turn, announced that it invited the Chancellor of Austria, Sebastian Kurz at the upcoming St. Petersburg international economic forum as head of the Austrian delegation, and expressed hope that he will come.
“We hope that this year the Austrian businessmen will take an active part in this forum (SPIEF), in addition, look for Austrian Industrialists to the international exhibition “Innoprom” and a Global summit on trade and industrialization, which will take place in July in Ekaterinburg”, – he added.
At the meeting, the presidents discussed, in particular, trade cooperation between the two countries. Bilateral trade last year grew 40% and reached six billion dollars, and in the beginning of this year has increased
76%, Putin said. According to him, negotiations with the van der Bellekom were held in a friendly and businesslike atmosphere.
