The information was reported by our colleagues from La Montagne on Thursday evening. The Intercité which linked Paris to Clermont-Ferrand and was due to arrive at 4:28 p.m. Thursday in the Puy-de-Dôme, was delayed by more than 5:30 after a power failure that occurred on the locomotive, around 3pm near Montargis.
The train was supplied with heat and light, but the locomotive could not perform its primary function of pulling the train.
A meal tray for New Years Eve
The 380 passengers who boarded at 1:01 p.m. had to be content, as New Year’s Eve dinner, with a SNCF meal tray at Nevers station, before arriving at around 10:15 p.m. in Clermont-Ferrand. According to the SNCF, all travelers were able to reach their destination, either via maintained connections, or via taxis taken over by the railway company.
