MANILA, Philippines – Creamline started their campaign on the right foot after knocking down Sta. Lucia, 25-18, 25-21, 25-27, 25-18, in the Volleyball Premier League Open Conference on Saturday at the Socio-civic and Cultural Center PCV in Ilocos Norte.
The Cool Smashers bet on the powerful offense of Michele Gumabao and Alyssa Valdez, who scored 24 and 20 points, respectively.
Creamline assistant coach Sherwin Meneses said his two training camps paid off as they prepared the team despite the long break.
“The team was always ready for this game,” Meneses said in Filipino. “Ms. Lucia got into a fight so the players had to help each other and Jia’s [Morado] The pass also contributed greatly to the victory. “
“It really was a team effort because the ball was distributed among all the attackers.”
While Gumabao and Valdez had most of the offense, Jema Galanza and Jeanette Panaga shot on 13-plus points, respectively.
Meanwhile, Morado scored 25 excellent sets and added five points.
MJ Phillips had 20 points for Lady Realtors.
