Rahmon talked with journalists from the Chinese media on the eve of the BRICS summit

The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon gave an interview to the journalists of leading Chinese media. The conversation took place on the eve of the BRICS summit, reports “WORLD 24”.

The Tajik leader said the joint plans of cooperation with China in the fields of energy, security and culture. The President said the country was interested in developing trade-economic relations and the revival of the “silk road”.

“The Republic of Tajikistan was one of the first countries, which signed a Memorandum of understanding to support this initiative. It is beneficial for Tajikistan and for most of the countries of Central Asia, because it is aimed at reviving the spiritual historical values of this ancient road. It is creative and aimed at strengthening the new mechanisms of relations between the countries of the region and the world, trusting and reliable cooperation for development and business expansion. These proposals are in the national interests of Tajikistan”, – said Rahmon.

Now Emomali Rahmon is visiting China in the framework of BRICS summit-plus, which also invited the heads of Egypt, Thailand, Mexico and Guinea.
