After being released by Rögle BK last weekend, Quebec striker Raphaël Lavoie signed a contract with Väsby, another Swedish formation.
First reported by the TVA Sports network on Tuesday, the loan was confirmed by the Edmonton Oilers organization.
The 19-year-old prospect, who was a second-round pick for the Oilers in the 2019 draft, was still in Europe and was hoping to come to an agreement with another club before considering returning to Quebec.
It is a surplus of players, combined with the contractual situation of some, which had led the management of Rögle BK to release the Quebecer just before the start of the regular season.
Lavoie will finally continue his development with the Väsby club, after having instead worn the colors of the Halifax Mooseheads and the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, during the 2019-2020 season.
