Recall of wieners due to bone fragments

    OTTAWA – The company Maple Lodge Farms Ltd recalling some wieners chicken because of the potential presence of bone fragments.

    The canadian food inspection agency (CFIA) said in a press release, Friday, that the two products affected by the recall were sold nationally:

    “Wieners chicken Big Original”, brand, Maple Lodge Farms, sold in the format of 450 g (CUP 067714004205 and CODE 2017.THE.27);

    “Super original wieners chicken”, the brand name Zabiha Halal, which is sold in the format of 450 g (CUP 067714004236 and CODE 2017.THE.27).

    Persons in possession of these products are urged to discard or return in-store.

    The CFIA stresses that this recall was triggered after an event of injury associated with the consumption of these products has been reported.
