Regional assessment of COVID-19: first significant increase to the Gardens of the High St-Laurent

Two days after it was added to the list of homes outbreak, the CHSLD Gardens, the Upper St. Lawrence river is experiencing its first significant increase, with five new confirmed cases of people infected with the COVID-19.

The five new patients are all employees of the residential facility for seniors in loss of autonomy located in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures. This 14th home outbreak in the National Capital now has 7 people infected, of which only one elder.

Recall that the residents of the second floor of the establishment where the outbreak occurred, and that all employees were to be tested following the discovery of the first case on Thursday.

On the whole of the region, the regional director of public health, Dr. François Desbiens, reported 34 additional infections, bringing the total to 1354 people who have contracted the disease since the beginning of the pandemic.
