    A driver of line B of the RER was violently assaulted on Wednesday at Sevran-Livry station by a traveler who she asked to stop smoking in the train, BFM Paris learned from RATP. Shocked, the victim was taken to hospital.

    Following this assault, the line’s drivers stopped spontaneously. As a result, traffic is disrupted on the line.

    “The RATP wishes to express its great emotion and its indignation at this unprecedented act of violence committed against one of its agents,” she wrote on Twitter. RATP shows solidarity with its shocked agent and his colleagues and strongly condemns these unacceptable acts of violence. ”

    The company specifies that it will accompany and support the agent victim of the assault in all its procedures, including filing a complaint.
