Turkey does not support NATO plans for Poland and Baltic countries
Turkey refuses to support the plan of NATO for the Baltic States and Poland as long as the Alliance will not offer Ankara more political support in the fight against the Kurds. Reported by Robin Emmott in the publication, Reuters informs enovosty.com/news.
Ankara said its representative in the NATO do not sign the plan and to take a tough stance on the Baltic States and Poland. At the same time, NATO officials are seeking a formal approval by all 29 member States of the Alliance plan to protect Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in the event of a Russian attack.
Without the approval of Turkey, NATO may be more difficult to build up the defenses in the Baltic States and Poland.
According to experts, Turkey’s behaviour is “threatening” to the Alliance, because NATO is trying to show that it is a single after the President of the United States Donald trump expressed skepticism about the activities of the Alliance, and the President of France Emmanuel macron suggested that he is experiencing a “brain-dead”.
