Rob Gronkowski joins Tom Brady to Tampa

Rob Gronkowski rejoint Tom Brady à Tampa

The Patriots of New England have traded the rights to Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, so the tight end will join in a visibly quarterback Tom Brady in Florida.

It is a real coup de théâtre in the NFL. If Brady has entered into an agreement with the Buccaneers in the month of march, remember that Gronkowski for its part, had retired at the end of the season 2018.

“Subject to the physical tests, Rob agrees to play for Tampa this season, said the agent of the player Drew Rosenhaus, the network ESPN. He will honour his present contract.”

The agreement of Gronkowski, who has not played in 2019, is indeed still valid for the next season. The value is $ 10 million for the last campaign under his agreement.

“You never know”

Earlier in the day Tuesday, “Gronk” had himself expressed his feelings during an interview on the radio channel on SiriusXM 102, indicating that he was not “totally finished”. A few hours later, he was on the way to Tampa with a choice of the seventh round in the draft. In return, the Patriots have got a selection of the fourth round.

Gronkowski, 30 years old, had not rejected the idea of a return to the side of Brady with the Buccaneers during the famous interview.

“Less than 24 hours after announcing my retirement, there were already rumors that I was going to get out of it, he argues. I feel fine right now and I’m happy where I am. But you never know!”

Physical testing

Gronkowski has totaled 7861 yards and 79 touchdowns through the pass between 2010 and 2018. Most importantly, it has won three times the Super Bowl with Brady and the Patriots. Before you can return to the game with the Buccaneers, he will have to pass physical tests.

Specifically, Gronkowski is also bound by an agreement with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). “Gronk” holds the belt 24/7 and that he has obtained at the gala event WrestleMania 36, earlier in the month of April.

Closer to home, the possible arrival of Gronkowski with the Buccaneers has enough to worry about the Québécois Antony Auclair. The tight end, which is necessary especially as a blocker, could drag in the chart. Auclair, however, concluded a new one-year contract with the formation of Tampa Bay in the last few weeks, shortly before the hiring of a certain Tom Brady.
