Federal Agency for tourism recommended that all Russian tour operators to refrain from sales of permits in Georgia. This was stated by the head of Rostourism Zarina doguzova, transmits television channel “MIR 24”.
“All tour operators have confirmed their willingness to stop selling these tours. In the near future appropriate information will appear or have already appeared on the websites of tour operators that operate in the Georgian direction. Tour operators are obliged to return the money in full for already purchased tours at the request of the tourists, who did not depart on the territory of Georgia”, – she promised.
On the eve of Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on suspension since July 8, air links with Georgia. Tourists who are there and planned to return home after this date will be able to exchange for free tickets and to get on an earlier flight.
Today the Ministry of transport explained that from July 8, Georgian airlines cannot operate flights to Russia. The ban, told the Ministry, is introduced to “ensure a sufficient level of aviation safety”. Another reason is the debts of Georgian carriers for navigation service.
Currently, according to Rostourism, in Georgia there are about 1,5 thousand clients of tour operators. How many people travel independently, specified.
