The recipient of the Toronto Blue Jays Russell Martin will miss most likely a few matches because he suffered an injury to the oblique muscle left during the meeting of Friday, in the face of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The organization of ontario has not yet specified the duration of his absence, but the newspaper “Toronto Sun” reported that Mike Ohlman had been recalled from the club-school triple-a Buffalo to fill the loss of the veteran.

Martin seemed to feel the pain by hitting a rolling over of a presence at bat in the first inning. He struggled to leave the rectangle of batting and run towards the first cushion. He did not return behind the plate at the beginning of the second, so that Rafael Lopez has replaced him and captured the shots from the departing Marcus Stroman.

“It would be a blow huge to cash, there’s no doubt about it. It is the cornerstone of our business,” admitted the manager, John Gibbons after the game, adding that the Quebec had to submit to a review of magnetic resonance imaging.

“Russ is solid as a rock. He plays on a daily basis in spite of the little aches here and there. It is presented at all days and it is the definition of perfect warrior. The injury must be really serious that he has decided not to return”, issued Stroman.

Martin has maintained a batting average of ,223 this year, snapping a 12-circuits and producing 27 points.
