The Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) has announced on Tuesday the reopening of its points of service mode without an appointment from 1 June.
This measure will be available from this week at some agents.
“Customers will be able to choose between make an appointment, with a commitment to respect the appointment time, and present directly at a point of service and waiting in line to complete their transaction,” one can read in a press release.
Regardless of the method chosen, all those that arise in a service centre will need to ensure compliance with the rules dictated by the public health.
It is possible to take an appointment to pass the theoretical exams.
Practical tests, however, are still suspended. Since this review takes place in a car in the company of an evaluator, the SAAQ must “review the physical organization and the supply of necessary equipment in order to carry out according to the requirements of the public Health”.
An announcement on this subject should be made in the next few days, ” says the company in its press release.
Renewal of licence automatic
The SAAQ continues to perform the automatic renewal of the licence expiring.
The licence holders therefore do not have to move as they will receive their new licence by post, with the most recent photo that is in their folder, with a notice of payment.
Several other services are also always available online on the website of the SAAQ, such as storing, déremiser and put at the disposal of a vehicle or even pay for a renewal of the driving licence and vehicle registration.
Online services “remain the best way to make a transaction quickly, while avoiding displacement,” indicates the SAAQ in its press release.
